celebrating life, wellness, and the process of recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
why we do it
At UVRA we have all been affected by addiction. We have all struggled with our addictions, whether drugs, alcohol or many countless other types of addiction. We have all seen the effects that addiction can have on not only the addict. We have also seen the aftermath that it has on family, friends, and many others.
We strive to bring awareness to the addict and those affected by addict behavior.
Recovery is possible
“Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
Overdose is real
International Overdose Awareness Day aims to honor the lives lost to overdose and reduce the stigma associated with a substance-related passing. Through mourning and remembrance, people can celebrate the lives of their loved ones without shame. At the same time, it is an opportunity to educate people that overdose death is preventable and raise awareness about evidence-based practices like Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution (OEND).
