My name is Julie Wright, I am the Chairman of UVRA. I have been on the board for many years since I started my road in recovery. I have now been in recovery from my drug of choice meth for 11.5 years now. I started when I opted into family drug court and started treatment. I worked really hard to get my 3 kids back and decided that volunteering is what I loved! Since then I have held many positions on the board and enjoy it. I love helping and giving back to the community. I work a full time job and when I am not there my joys are being with my husband, fishing, camping spending time with all three of my children and being a grandma to my beautiful grandson! I also have may bonus children that I adore and spend time with them as well. Next is volunteering and helping people in recovery!
I’ve been in recovery a little over three years. I’ve been a part of the UVRA Board for 3 years now. This is my first year being co-chair. I have 2 boys. My addiction taught me a lot of things. In my addiction I made choices that resulted in my children being removed from me. I worked hard in my recovery and got them back. I love being a part of the recovery community. It helps me be able to connect and help people that have similar struggles, it also helps me stay humble. Being on this board allows me to contribute to making a difference to the addict that still suffers.
